Kalengada Bhemaiah Chinapa better known as Nikhil Chinapa and VJ Nikhil (born in Bangalore, India on 6 June 1973) is an Indian radio jockey and video jockey and is a popular presenter on MTV India for more than a decade. He is now the Festival Director of Asia's premier music festival - Sunburn Festival in Goa.[1] Often criticized for his poor taste in music, Nikhil was never a DJ till he began organising his own music festival.

Nikhil Chinapa was born in Bangalore and has also lived in Agra, where he studied in St. George's College. His father, an Indian Army Paratrooper, was then transferred to Secunderabad where he studied in Faust and for a few months in Begumpet's Hyderabad Public School. He then went on to study at St. Joseph's Boys' High School in Bangalore.
He later applied to study architecture at the B. M. Sreenivasaiah College of Engineering (BMS) in Bangalore, Karnataka, graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture degree.[2] Chinapa is married to DJ Pearl.[3]
